Trip Itinerary highlights-
Day-1: Arrival at Paro and stay in a hotel– As you arrive at Paro International Airport, you will be received and transferred to the hotel by one of our representatives. Paro is a peaceful town that has a number of things to explore such as vibrant restaurants, colorful shops, serene monasteries, green valleys, as well as the national museum, which is housed in an old watchtower. Lunch, Dinner included an overnight stay in the hotel.
Day 2: Travelling to Trongsa– After breakfast, this morning we will have a long drive amongst picturesque scenery which almost take 7-8hrs to reach Trongsa. Traveling through open yak pastures and winding river valleys, you will see high alpine mountains to semi-tropical forests. After lunch, we are going to explore several paths heading up in search of mammals. Along the way, we will visit the stunning Dzong of Trongsa and will pass Chele La Pass. After arriver, check into the pre-booked hotel of Trongsa for the overnight stay.
Day 3: Trip to Jangbi for Trekking & Wildlife Watching – At early morning, we will start with a drive towards the town of Tongtongphe which will take 2 hrs. Then we will begin trekking with our trekking team. During the trek towards the Monpa village of Jangbi, we will keep our eyes out for squirrels, Asiatic black bear, and musk deer before arriving at our camp.
Day 4: Trip to Jigme Singe Wangchuck National Park– On the 5th day, after breakfast, we will spend our day in the wonderful Jigme Singe Wangchuck National Park, so you have high chances of seeing different animals, reptiles, birds and plants including tigers, leopards, and other rare animals. We will return to the same camp for the overnight stay.
Day 5: Transfer to Kudra – Today we will start our trip where the trail follows the ridgeline and descends through the Chir Pine forest. Along the way keep your eyes peeled for sambar deer, barking deer, and the unusual gorals. When we will reach Kudra, our campsite offers a birds-eye-view of Zhemgang. Overnight stay at Kudra campsite.
Day 6: Kudra to Nabji – On the 6th day, after breakfast, we will continue to trek from Kudra to Nabji which is the most stunning section of the trek. This trek goes through dense forests where local people have plenty of stories of spotting tigers and leopards along this trail so keep your eyes open. Then you will arrive at Nabji which is a beautiful village which is surrounded by the paddy fields. Overnight stay.
Day 7: Explore the Nabji- Next morning, we will going to explore Nabji village. You can explore many sambar deer as well as the local tigers, leopards, bears and other rare animals. You will return to the same camp as last night in the evening for the overnight stay.
Day 8: Trip to Buli- Today we will be driven for around 45 minutes to Dakhphe village. Since the village farm road is rarely used by cars, it will be good for mammal watching. Here, we can explore rare cats such as marbled cats, clouded leopards, Asiatic golden cats, leopards and also the Tigers as they cross the seldom-used road at night. We will return to the same guesthouse as last night.
Day 9: Buli to Paro- On the 10th day, in the early morning, we will drive out to Paro. It is a long route journey which will take 10 hrs to reach. After arrival, check into a pre-booked hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 10: Drop to the airport- On the last day of our trip, you will be transferred to the airport in time to catch your return flight home.
Important note about Fitness Level Required:
It is noted that the requirement of fitness level is quite high as we will be tracking tigers for our Bhutan Tiger safari in dense forests for around 10 hours which is surely very hectic for anyone. The temperature is very hot at this time. If you head into the mountains then attitude also plays a role. So it is recommended to go for proper fitness check before embarking on this safari.
